- About the fit
Who this is for.
This cohort is for steady, curious people who want to approach mental health navigation as a learning journey — not crisis care. You’ll thrive here if you can commit to 16 weeks, care about making systems safer, and bring lived or loved-one experiences of barriers or harm. It’s not a fit if you’re in acute crisis; we can connect you with other supports.
What you’ll get.
You’ll walk away with more than a story in a podcast. You’ll learn how different therapy models actually work, map your own needs and values, and build the confidence to choose care that fits. You’ll also be part of changing the system itself — your experience will ripple out through the podcast, the Access Guide, and beyond. Together, we make it easier for the next person who tries to reach out for help.
Why your participation matters.
What you share here will live far beyond our calls. Your questions, insights, and stories will feed into a guide, a season of conversations, and a set of tools that help people you may never meet find their footing in the mental health system.

- About The Details
Practical details
• Commitment: 12 weeks of learning & 4 weeks of on-boarding/closing, February 2026–June 2026, plus follow-up reflections.
• Format: Online via Zoom, plus short audio diary entries between sessions.
• Tech: A quiet space and a smartphone or laptop with internet are enough. Apple earphones with mic highly encouraged.

• Compensation: The program itself is fully funded — you don’t pay to join.
What participation involves
Joining means committing to the full season. You’ll be one of 8 people in a guided group that meets regularly over four months. Sessions run about two hours each, online, with a mix of learning, discussion, and reflection. Along the way, you’ll also keep short audio diaries that may be woven into the podcast. Depending on the unique group goals, additional support might be encouraged between sessions. This isn’t background noise — you’re stepping into the story with us.
Support & safety
This is a trauma-informed space. That means we don’t just teach tools, we use them in real time. If something gets heavy, we slow down, we check in, we adapt. This group is not a trauma processing group, however coming together can have therapeutic benefits. Every participant has access to the $2,000 Access Fund to continue therapy with a qualified provider after the group* . Every participant can access services throughout the project with one of our student counsellors. You’ll also have a point person on our team if you need extra support between sessions.
*contingent upon fundraising
Consent & Boundaries
We’ll never put words in your mouth. What you share in group or diaries is yours, and you’ll always know how it could be used. Editing is collaborative — you’ll have a say in what ends up in the final cut. Once you sign up, we do ask that you stick with the process: showing up, leaning in, and being part of the full journey. Work like this takes fire and a commitment for a better tomorrow, and we can’t promise you’re always going to love every part of it (it’s group work, and most of us have had an experience or two with that), but what we can promise is a resilience-based framework that builds trust by staying with and handling the tricky moments.
Tone & Community
We don’t care if you’ve never been recorded before. This isn’t about polished soundbites — it’s about honesty. You’ll be part of a circle that values real stories, messy truths, and learning out loud. Together we hold space for each other, and together we leave something bigger behind: a map for others to follow.

meaning we’re not here to center dominant narratives, but to make room for everyone. Racism, bigotry, intimidation, or “free speech” arguments used to justify harm will not be tolerated.
Our work is rooted in Indigenous pedagogy.
That means more than name-dropping—it means self-location, honouring knowledge made with community, and respect for the land we work on, whether in person or remotely. We do our best to centre Indigenous voices in decision-making, pedagogy, and storytelling, even within the limits of one season of podcasting.
Finally, knowledge is not free for the taking. We work our asses off to pay people for their time and wisdom. That’s how we normalize knowledge-making as collaborative—not extractive. Every donation, share, and dollar raised helps us keep that promise.
